Vesper Peak North Face

Thought I would share a couple of neat pictures. These aren't nearly as good as the ones of Elizabeth though.

It was a pretty good trip. About 8 total pitches with 4 really good pitches on slabby granite that went at aroun 5.5. Add in a gutsy leap from the glacier moat onto the base of the climbing route and it made for a good adventure in the mountains. Ten hours car to car with about 5,000 vertical feet or elevation gain.

Fashion Show

So I know I am silly. But Elizabeth is already getting so big she is about to grow out of her 0-3 months and I needed pictures. So we put on a little fashion show just for me. Well and grandmas of course.
I think I had more fun than she did!

The Cockatrices

This is Jared's rendition of a Cockatrice. For those of you as ignorant as myself. I will explain. It bird/serpent that can be found in the forests of Jared's fantasy world. That apparently will kill you if you look it in the eye. So I don't recommend running into one. However, I was so amazed with details that I had to share.

What do you do?

What do you do with an abundance of Zucchini? We have given it away, made bread (and given that away), froze some bread, steamed it, fried it, put in pancakes and muffins. What else is there? I am so out of ideas.

Election results would indicate that Guns and Roses is the clear winner. However in the current tradition of the american electorate there will be an official recount, followed by a second recount, appeals to the supreme court and 24 hour coverage by advertising propogandist masquerading as journalists. Fair and Balanced!!!

Regardless of what the recounts or the courts say the decision on the winner will ultimately be made by a couple of extremely wealthy corporate types who think that the average american household earns about $120,000 a year.

Does anybody know an easy way to change the name of the blog without having to change the web page address?

Any suggestions for a new blog name?

There are those in the ether of the internet who seem to feel that the presence of her royal highness Miss Elizabeth Grace requires a change to the title of this reluctantly read blog. I think that these subversive smatterings are really a continuation of the propoganda perpetuated by those members of the "missing boy parts" side of the species who also decided it was necessary to initiate a shock and awe campaign on the Johnston household and bombarded this the last bastion of testerone with pink clothes and glittering shoes.

For grandmas!

It is amazing how fast 2 weeks goes AFTER they are born.

How does you garden grow.

We had this great idea to give the boys each there own garden square. I am amazed at how well their gardens are doing.

The Balance Beam Incident

In our neighborhood we have this beautiful little park that the boys love to play at. Like most parks it has a variety of playground equipment. Among which is a steel balance beam. Tyler recently was showing his "moves" off to his cousins. The results.....






4 knocked out baby teeth. One swallowed, one retrieved by the toothfairy= $1, two hanging in there but likely to fall out soon. And trust me he wasn't smiling when it happened!
