No pictures
I have no pictures but I wanted to write about the great weekend we had a few weeks back. Friday night was Jared's Blue and Gold banquet. He was so excited because he is now the oldest kid in the wolf den which makes him the leader (very important when you are 8 almost 9). He had a part in the skit which he practiced faithfully every night for nearly two weeks. Pops and Grandma J met us at the church and after Jared's stage debut, we kissed our kids goodbye and left them in the very capable hands of their grandparents. Eric and I headed to Bellingham. We were slightly reminiscent of our college days and picked up a pizza from Pizza Pipeline. Very cheap but not quite as good as we remembered. We stayed at the Fairhaven Inn. We did have a very pretty water view if you looked over the tops of the industrial buildings and ferry dock. Saturday morning we slept in. WOW! can't remember the last time I did that. Had a quite breakfast, then we wandered around the Fairhaven Historical district. Lots of fun shops bakeries and such. We had a great sandwich and soup in some little shop. Then we drove down Chuckanut Drive which winds down the West coast. Really beautiful. Then we went to Sherlock Holmes. We had only been trying to see in since Christmas. We really enjoyed the movie. Then we figured we had time for dinner before heading home. This is where the weekend kind of started to fall apart. We went to Outback. We gave our names and they said 15 minute wait. We thought great no problem. We sat down and the room started to fill. We looked around there were empty table and they were seating no one. After patiently waiting for 40 minutes we asked the hostess what the problem was. She said nothing other than she would seat us right away. About another 5 minutes went by and our buzzer went off. We followed our server to our seats and continued to wait. Another 10 minutes go by and our server comes to take our drink order. We wanted water, not a complicated order. But after waiting a another 20 minutes we left. I have never walked out of a restaurant in my life. But we were at there for 1 hour and 20 minutes and never even got our water. After that we just drove home and didn't even get dinner. Even with our dinner fiasco we had a great time. It was nice to have a change from our daily life. I think Elizabeth was the only one who missed us. The boys loved spending time with Grandma and Pops! Apparently they are more fun than we are!
