The excitement continues at our house!
We had lots of fun slicing and ripping out the carpet! A little concerned with the unexplainable stains we found but we wont dwell on that..... on with the removal process.
We cleared out the living room and stacked all the furniture and the waiting floor in the piano room.
I crawled around on my hands and knees with a screw driver pulling out stubborn staples with my faithful sidekick carrying a bucket for me.
I also got to pull up the rest of the old laminate floor and stack it in the garage. I found great satisfaction in pulling up that floor, but wow I was sore. I don't think I use those muscles very much!
The boys have found creative ways to play. Stacks of hardwood floor have become a battlefield for "Soldiers vs Dinosaurs"
Our Friday night movie night went according to schedule we just relocated to the front room.
DAY 2
The cool black stuff which i have no idea what it is really called but Tyler loved whacking it with the staples.
Who knew the first row would take 4 hours?
The Statue of Liberty perhaps?
Alex couldn't wait to have a turn to do something, anything. Every 5 seconds "dad is it my turn, can I do that?"
The lack of continuous flooring doesn't bother anyone around here. Tyler eating his breakfast says to me "Mom this is so cool eating standing up it's like I'm in a fancy French place you know like in France" :) so whatever, obviously some people are easy to please!
The first room is done! Well the floor is in the trim still needs to get repainted and go back up. But this is definitely progress!!!!
So tell me how would you arrange your furniture in this room? We are planning to get new couches and this is where the T.V.goes normally. But I want some new ideas.

I love the floor you chose! If Eric needs any help I will volunteer my husband!
That is so pretty!!! And lots of hard work, I'm sure. I'm terrible with room arranging. But buying new couches sounds fun!
Love the floor!! How did you manage a remodel with a new house?? I guess it's not real new...oh how time flies!! I hear that R.C Willey here in Utah is the best place to shop for furniture ;)
The flooring is beautiful! Wowzers...a lot of work. I love the figures up on all the boxes. Classic. And was that HP#7 playing on the TV? Can't wait to see more pictures!
How come you switched out your carpet? Those are the exact floors i have! Love the look, but not so much the upkeep! I am constantly polishing and worried that someone will scrape it all up!
Looks fantastic!
