I have had the recent pleasure of accompany 2 of my boys are the school field trips.
And as you may have guessed I survived them both!
Tyler's field trip consisted of a hour+ drive to Everett for a rushed sack lunch and the park with no time for a bathroom break (seriously with 5 classes of first graders and their mom's. CRAZY!) and a performance of Seussical the Musical! With what seemed like hundreds of 1st through 5th graders.
The high school students really did an excellent job and the whole audience seemed to enjoy "Horton Hears a Who" and other stories set to music.
It was fun sitting with Tyler and his classmates. They have been reading Dr. Seuss books to get prepared for the show. It was so cute to hear them laugh and understand the stories.
Alex's field trip a little different. We took a boat ride to see the Penn Cove Mussel Farm. Really cool. Then we ate lunch and the kids had time to play (and bathroom breaks) and then a tour of the Whidbey Island Museum. We so lucked out on having a sunny day! Cold but sunny!
I have to say it made me so happy that my 3rd grader still wanted to sit with me and eat lunch!
2 more field trips to go.
Yes if you are doing the math I only have 3 kids in school and that will make 4 field trips. 1 kid gets to go on 2 trips this year and 1 very disgruntled child has declared life to be unfair.
More on that later!
