This week is not really inspiring me for 2012.
In fact if its going to continue this way, we can be done now!
This is how my week went....
Thursday
It's not a great picture.
It's taken at the ER,
where I took Jared because he had a rash and couldn't swallow his breakfast
Now this is the only picture Jared allowed.
Trust me he looked worse before he looked better.
But since Jared didn't have a fever, they gave us some Benadryl and sent us home.
In the meanwhile....
The school calls
Alex has a 103+ fever.....
Alex looked like this for much of the next 2 days.
Now I do have to say we had a moment of peace.
Sunday everyone woke up.
No fevers since early Saturday morning.
Jared had his rash but we had been assured it was nothing.
We went to church probably exposing all of our closest friends to this nasty thing. Sorry friends.
Sunday night comes.
We are happily play a game when Jared starts looking ill,
really ill, he could hardly keep his head up.
Fever!
We keep him home Monday.
School call.... come get Tyler..... fever over 102.
Tuesday morning...midnight
Jared calls out, fever 104+, call a friend to assist in a blessing then, trip to the ER.
ER says its a virus their is nothing they can do.
Tuesday Eric comes home to take care of the sick ones so I can go to Physical Therapy.
I come home to....
2 more sick ones....
Eric slept nearly 24 hours
Elizabeth had a fever and stomach flu.
Not fun.
Wednesday..
Everyone to the doctor.
Yes its a virus nothing they can do but they also have a bacterial infection resulting in horrible ear infections.
SO antibiotics all around!
This is about the best thing that has happen.
She cuddled!!
She doesn't do that much anymore.
Too busy!
It's been a week.
We still have Tyler and Jared home both with ear infection and today is the first day their fevers have been under 102! Eric and Elizabeth still sleeping lots with fevers and chills.
And me....I'm ready for a nap.
Giving out meds every few hours and little sleep is taking its toll, but so far I'm not sick.
I hope to keep it that way!
So I'm not really trying to complain, but really please can we move on from this?

Oh, I feel your pain. We have been sick too. Ours started before Christmas. We had a lovely sick vacation. Just a lingering thing turning into others. Not so intense as yours...basically a really bad cold that turned into sinus infections for two, double ear infections for one, and pneumonia and SCARLET FEVER for the other. Really, scarlet fever is a result of strep. Once the strange hives and then rash appeared, we had just started him on anti's for the pneumonia, so luckily it didn't go terribly bad. We felt so back that he had strep throat and didn't know it. OH, I'm ready for this to ALL be gone. Isn't this how it goes: when you are sick, you can't remember what it is like when you are well? Good luck in getting through this. I'm SO glad that you are o.k.
Oh, Linda... I am sorry! I hope everyone is feeling better soon, and might I just add what a great tender mercy it is that the Lord has seen fit to keep you healthy? :) Keep your head up.
Ugg, so sorry, Linda. I have never heard of a virus with symptoms like Jared's. Scary. Hope everything will be better and they are done being sick for the year.
I agree with your friend Pam. It's good to recognize those "tender mercies". How horrible for everyone to be so sick. I'm glad they all have a healthy and very capable nurse to help them feel better. I pray your good health will continue and for brighter days ahead for the rest of the family.
