My Backpacking trip: by Jared Johnston

One day we pact up to go backpacking and we were going to Anderson lakes. On the way to our camp site we herd a sound and it sounded like this "Peee! Peee!" The are called pikas but we din't see them very much they looked like a sqruiel with no tail. We went on until we saw a puddle it had a bear and wolf and deer footprints. We went on and we had to climb down a steep hill after we were down the hill we saw anderson lakes then some campsites. We had to cross a little stream, Dad helped us across then we followed the trail again three was mud and in the mud was a footprint and it was a racoon footprint. We got to the camp and we unpacked then we went fishing. There was a lot of bugs over the water. We didn't catch any fish. We saw a black bear up on a hill, then it ran into the forrest. then we had Hot Chocolate and I spilled it and burnt my leg. After that we saw a sattlelite going quickly across the sky. Then we went to sleep. On the way Home we stoped to get a milkshake at burger king and we told Dad thanks and what he said back was your welcome.

Backpackus Selfpropellus has been sighted again in the North Cascades

Anderson Lake, you can barely make out our tent in the middle of the trees just next to the lake.

Yes this is august and yes it really was that cold on Saturday morning.

Backpackus selfpropellus is proficient at catching itself but not not much else :)

Pictures of sunsets in the mountains never truly capture the true imagery but this one comes close.

But what if we see the bear?
