3v3

have you ever attended a 3v3 soccer tournament?

we were part of one this weekend

the boys had fun

Tyler's team was the blazers

pay close attention to their shirts

I made them!

after Eric came up with the iron on idea!! 

much easier than what I had come up with

Alex's team SHAZAM!!

they were so funny

I looked over and they were all huddled up before the start of their first game!

we were lucky that the teams didn't play at the same time

if you look close you can see a smile 

(even if the picture isn't in focus)

both teams did well

Alex's was devastated because his team lost 1 game to team from Lynnwood

"WHY did they come from so far away this was our tournament!!!"

"MOM they looked like they weren't even trying!!"

we asked him 

"Alex, when was the last time you lost a soccer game?"

....

(crickets chirping the the background)

a small reply back " um...2 years"

he's recovered now
a bit of perspective on losing

we had a break from about 1-3
they were going to eat and rest

not a lot of resting went on

did I mention it lasted all day

I think she was over it

especially when we had to go back after lunch

Tyler's team ended up finishing 2nd

I don't know how Alex's team ended up doing
they older boys tournament continued on Sunday
we weren't there
they were eliminated before the final round

lots of work for everyone involved
but I know they had fun

they received coupon for frozen yogurt 
so we headed there after the games!

if you are wondering about Jared and Eric
because of course you are
Eric coached the teams until lunch
then he and Jared joined the youth going to the temple

never a dull moment for us I guess!
