lazy days of summer

one of my favorite things about summer
is the lack of schedule
no where to be
no rush
everything just seems to take a step back and slows down
now by September I will be jumping at the chance for a established routine
but for now I'm going to enjoy sleeping in
staying up
not rushing from one thing to the next

now that's not saying we have nothing to do
somehow we still have a lot to do

Jared has something new this year
he is a strawberry picker!
he gets up every morning 6 days a week at 6:45 and catches the city bus with the other pickers from the hood and works about 5 hours picking berries
in his first 7 days he picked 325 pounds
his hard work is resulting in lots of this

which is ok by us :)

and HRH still has her swim lessons
so the rest of the time we are
getting our summer reading in!
the kids decided we all need to read 1000 pages before school starts

so far Elizabeth has been the only one who wants to play games
we've also had dentist appointment, doctors appointment, birthday parties, primary parties, team parties

and mostly we had good weather

we were expecting one storm so I clipped so flowers to save them from the storm
and it did rain all day

I'm loving the flowers in my new jars!

I'm also loving these daisy getting ready to open
"Don't you think Daisies are the friendliest flower?"
name that movie!
yellow roses always remind me of my mom
So in the first week of summer I have only taken to hiding out once! (I blame the rain)

actually I think we had a great first week

we made our summer bucket list so we've got a plan ahead of us, sort of!
lots of good stuff

Wow! A strawberry picker...didn't know kids could actually have a paid job.

The movie...I'm going out on a limb here...is it Bambi?
