October 2, 2013

and on a vacation again!

except this time I went alone

I flew to Utah for Todd and Marian"s wedding!!
It was a whirl wind trip.
Eric drove me to the airport Thursday afternoon
after 90+ minutes in the terrorist watch lane
I made it through security
I was starving so I grabbed a slice of pizza and headed down the terminal to my "listed" gate
it was at the very end of the terminal but when I got there
there was a nice sign informing me that my gate # had been changed
so I turned around a walked back to my new gate
which happened to be directly across for the pizza place
Nice!
the friendly Delta agent smiled and told me I made it just in time
I walked down the walkway as they pulled door closed behind me
YEAH!
I ate my greasy pepperoni pizza and Coke on the plane while I watch movie trailers!!
Joan met me at the Salt Lake Airport
and put me straight to work
6 hours later after some last minutes preparations
we got to Joan's house!
time to cut up fruit for the luncheon
somewhere around 1:00 we called it quits!

Bright and beautiful dawn!

Sealed for Time and ALL Eternity in the Mount  Timpanogos Temple!
Mr. and Mrs. Erickson!

Beautiful morning at the temple surrounded by family!

 then on to luncheon

the lunch was very nice
and we headed home to rest a little
and the down pour started
everyone caught outside was immediately soaked
we dried dresses and shirts
used blow dryers are suit coats
and the reception was moved from outside in the rose garden to inside the museum

the reception was beautiful in the museum
I saw most of my extended family both Vincent's and Petersen's some whom I had not seen in years
I love that they came.
My sister Karen was missed
someday soon we all have to get together
we said good-bye to the Bride and Groom
helped with some clean up and then off to bed for another late night

Saturday was great!
My brother and 2 of my sisters had breakfast together
then we had some errands
returning the tuxes thing like that
then we went to a movie to relax
ate some dinner than relaxed some more at Barnes and Nobles!

Then Sunday morning we took a quick drive up Hobble Creek canyon
then off the the airport.
Eric meet me (only an hour late) in Seattle there was a lot of traffic
where we then drove to Olympia to pick up some of our kids and catch a bit of the Seahawks vs 49's game I guess that is a big deal remember that traffic I mentioned.
It's football what do I know?

Anyways,
a whirl wind trip
but it was amazing!!
I'm grateful for my husband who took some time off so he good juggle the kids, my friends and family who helped and supported me making it possible for me to go and spend time with my family for such a special event.

Now its really time to get back to normal!
