dinner

I mentioned I love fall soccer

I do
mostly I just love fall

but this lead to my good friend asking how I manage dinner during the busy season?
I've been asked by a lot of people lately how we get it all done
which makes me laugh
I DON'T

the boys play sports all year
between the 3 of them playing different things
we are a busy family
I actually think it is important for them to develope these talents
some disagree
or say we are too busy
we try really hard to balance
and most of the time I think we do a good job

But to answer you AMY DAWN
this is what helps me...

First
kick the "perfect image"
this is hard for me
in my head dinner is on the table at 5:30 with beautiful match table setting you know like Martha Stewart
but other than Martha I'm not sure this exists
and its too stressful

we don't have a scheduled dinner time
each day is a little different
and I do what works for that day
trying to keep in mind how much time I have each day

Second...
cook what they like
most Sunday nights I ask my family what they want to eat for the up coming week.
it has to be something I make
after I have their ideas
I figure out what day I have time to make each meal
then on Monday I go shopping for the items I don't have

Third...
slave labor! helpers
I want my kids to leave the house having some clue to cook
so they help me make the meal they chose

Jared makes great chicken enchiladas and spanish rice
and Grace helps everybody

Forth...
the crockpot!
the best friend to a busy mom
you can cook almost anything in a slow cooker
Pinterest
is a great source for ideas

so that's what I do Amy! Hope it helps

Wow! A post for me! Thank you so much. :) I enjoyed reading. Thanks for the tips.

P.S. I like how Jared is whistling as he works...
